Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 4, 2026
Last Updated: June 4, 2026
Aestie is a consumer platform for discovering, sharing, and evaluating medical aesthetic outcomes. We take your privacy seriously — especially given the personal nature of the content shared on our platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: Email address, username, and password when you register. We do not require your real name to create an account.
- Profile information: Any optional details you choose to add to your account, such as a display name or bio. Your public-facing profile does not display personally identifying information.
- Physical appearance attributes: During onboarding, and at any time thereafter, you may provide self-described physical characteristics — such as skin tone, facial features, or other aesthetic attributes — to help us match you with relevant procedures, outcomes, and providers, and to rank and surface journeys most relevant to you. These attributes are used solely for personalization and relevance within the Platform. You can update or remove them at any time from your account settings.
- Structured journey content: Before/after photos, procedure details, provider information, pricing, recovery timelines, satisfaction ratings, and any other content you voluntarily submit.
- Contributions: Reviews, Q&A responses, community posts, and comments.
- Verification materials: Appointment confirmations, receipts, or other documents you submit to verify a procedure. These are used solely for verification purposes.
- Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid tier, payment details are processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: Messages you send to us via email or support channels.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, search queries, time spent, and click patterns.
- Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies and similar tools to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
- Referral data: How you arrived at Aestie (e.g., a shared link, social media, search).
Information From Third Parties
If you connect a social account to Aestie, we may receive basic profile information (name, email, profile photo) from that platform, subject to your settings there.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Aestie platform
- Display your contributions to other users on the Platform (always under your pseudonymous username — your real identity is never shown publicly)
- Match you with relevant procedures, outcomes, and providers, and rank and surface journeys most relevant to you, based on physical appearance attributes you provide
- Verify the authenticity of submitted journeys and reviews
- Manage your account, credits, and subscription
- Personalize your experience and surface relevant content
- Send transactional communications (account confirmations, password resets, contribution updates)
- Send platform updates or newsletters, if you've opted in
- Conduct internal research and analytics to improve platform quality
- Detect fraud, abuse, and policy violations
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
Aggregated and De-identified Data
We may aggregate and de-identify user data to generate anonymized insights — for example, trends in procedure satisfaction, provider performance patterns, or demographic summaries. This data does not identify you personally and may be used for internal analysis, platform development, or shared with third parties such as pharmaceutical and device companies as part of our data licensing business. We take care to ensure this data cannot be reasonably re-linked to you before any such use or sharing.
Sensitive Personal Information
Physical appearance attributes you provide (such as skin tone or facial features) are considered sensitive personal information under applicable privacy laws. We use this information solely to match you with relevant procedures, outcomes, and providers, and to rank and surface journeys most relevant to you on the Platform. We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties in identifiable form. You may update or delete your appearance attributes at any time from your account settings.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With other users: Content you submit (reviews, journey posts, before/after photos, ratings) is visible to other Aestie users under your pseudonymous username. Your real identity, email address, and any other personally identifying information are never displayed publicly.
- With service providers: We work with vendors who help us operate the platform — including hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and analytics. These vendors access your data only to perform services on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- With providers you name: If you attribute a procedure to a specific provider, that attribution (and your public review) will be visible on their profile. We do not share your private contact information with providers.
- For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Aestie, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer: If Aestie is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all of its assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance of any such change.
4. Your Content and Pseudonymity
All contributions on Aestie — including reviews, before/after photos, journey posts, and ratings — are displayed publicly under your pseudonymous username. Your real identity is never shown alongside your content. We do not require a real name to create an account, and no personally identifying information is visible to other users or providers.Because contributions are pseudonymous by design and form part of the platform's shared outcomes database, content you submit is not individually editable or removable after posting. This is intentional — the integrity of the platform depends on outcomes remaining visible and unaltered. If you delete your account, your account and associated private data (email, login credentials) will be removed. Your contributions will remain on the platform in anonymized form, detached from your account, as part of the aggregated outcomes dataset.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information (email, credentials, account settings) for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal account data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, compliance, or fraud prevention purposes.Contributions you submitted — reviews, journey posts, before/after photos — will remain on the platform in anonymized form after account deletion, detached from any account identifier. Aggregated and de-identified data derived from contributions may be retained indefinitely.
6. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest. No system is completely secure. If you have reason to believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
7. Children's Privacy
Aestie is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us.
8. Your Choices and Rights

- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing
- Receive a portable copy of your data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@aestie.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Third-Party Links
Our platform may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., provider websites, social platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of Aestie after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
